Three Ways to Research

Spore Syringes

From $18

10cc sterile spore solution suspended in distilled water. Ideal for wet-mount slide preparation, long-term storage, and repeated sampling. Each syringe is prepared in a sterile environment and sealed for maximum viability.

Spore Swabs

From $12

Sterile cotton swabs loaded with spore material, individually packaged and labeled. Perfect for direct agar transfers, microscopy slides, and archival purposes. Minimal contamination risk with our sealed packaging.

Spore Prints

From $15

Natural spore deposits on sterile foil or paper substrate. Each print captures the full spore pattern of a single specimen, providing an authentic reference for taxonomy and morphological study.

Beginner FriendlyPsilocybe cubensis

Golden Teacher

One of the most studied cubensis varieties in the microscopy community. Known for its wide, golden-capped fruiting bodies and robust spore production. The spore print is a deep purple-brown with excellent density — excellent for beginner microscopists learning slide preparation.

Lineage: Unknown wild isolate, first documented in the 1980s. Stable IBE genetics with consistent spore morphology across generations.

Advanced ResearchPsilocybe cubensis

Penis Envy

A dense, slow-developing mutant strain with uniquely shaped fruiting bodies. Highly sought after for its dense spore clusters and genetic stability under the microscope. The spore walls are notably thicker than standard cubensis varieties.

Lineage: Mutant isolate attributed to Terence McKenna, stabilized over decades. Exhibits recessive genetics requiring careful selection for consistent expression.

ProlificPsilocybe cubensis

B+

A prolific and adaptable strain with large, caramel-capped specimens. Produces abundant spore deposits, ideal for long-term microscopy research. Spore prints are consistently dark and dense.

Lineage: Developed by Mr. G in the 1990s. Believed to be a hybrid with Psilocybe azurescens genetics, though this remains unconfirmed.

Rare GeneticsPsilocybe cubensis

Albino A+

A leucistic variant of the A-strain producing near-white fruiting bodies with blue-tinged spores. A visually striking specimen for slide preparation with unique pigmentation characteristics.

Lineage: Leucistic mutation of the A+ strain. Partial albinism affects pigmentation but not spore viability. Spores appear lighter under microscopy.

Heritage StrainPsilocybe cubensis

Mazatapec

Ancient Mexican strain with a rich ethnobotanical history. Medium-sized caps with dark, dense spore deposits. A staple in any serious microscopy collection for its consistent morphology.

Lineage: Indigenous to the Mazatec region of Oaxaca, Mexico. One of the oldest documented cubensis strains with unbroken lineage records.

African OriginPsilocybe cubensis

Transkei

First documented cubensis from the African continent, collected in the Transkei region of South Africa. Produces small, nipple-capped fruiting bodies with exceptionally clear spore prints.

Lineage: Wild collection from South Africa circa 2002. Unique geographic isolation has produced distinct spore morphology compared to Central American varieties.

Every Strain. Every Detail. No Guesswork.

We're enthusiasts too. Every listing is written by researchers, for researchers.

Documented Genetics

Full lineage and origin information for every strain. We trace each variety back to its source — wild collection, selective breeding, or known isolation — so you know exactly what you're studying.

Spore Characteristics

Detailed notes on spore color, density, germination behavior, and print quality. Each listing includes what to expect under the microscope so you can plan your research accordingly.

Research Notes

What makes each strain unique for microscopy? We document morphological quirks, slide preparation tips, and comparative notes against related varieties — the kind of detail you won't find anywhere else.
